Days 8-16

Day 8:

This is my husband doing his best to avoid being photographed.

Day 9:

I had the misfortune to come down with a stomach bug that luckily only lasted 24 hours. This is a photo of part of my nightstand, featuring a bottle of papaya enzymes, a container of cantaloupe that I was able to keep down towards the end of the night, and a bottle of water.

Day 10:

We don’t get much snow where I live and when we do it’s a calamity because of all the ice that accompanies it. This is what I woke up to the day after I was sick.

Day 11:

Went out to dinner with the family. Although I was feeling better, my appetite hadn’t quite recovered. That combined with a very tired toddler who was acting up, meant I took most of my meal home in a box.

Day 12:

I decided to play around with the shutter priority function on the PowerShot.

Day 13 and Day 14 were the days I forgot to take a picture. Mea culpa but I will proceed with the project anyway.

Day 15:

My son decided to play with his pasta instead of eating it but at least he got to practice using his fork.

Day 16:

I captured this father-son moment on my iphone.

Day 7

I needed to pump milk for my son today and this is the amount I got out of two sessions. Why did I take a picture of this? Because ever since I stopped pumping regularly, it’s become harder for me to get more than an ounce of milk after multiple pumpings. What you see here is almost 4 ounces of milk. Proud of myself? You bet.

Day 6

My little guy has been feeling under the weather lately. Here he is nursing to sleep. I took this photo with my iphone and cleaned up some of the photo noise in iphoto.

Day 5

I made a sour cream apple pie today with a streusel topping. I chose to use a pre-made crust, but everything else is according to thisĀ recipe. Oh, and yes, it’s delicious!

Day 4

I decided to take a sunset walk since the weather was nice today and I thought night photography would be a challenge. I took this photo using the night setting on the PowerShot. I also messed around trying different aperture and shutter speed settings, but I couldn’t quite get it right. It started to get cold so I decided to call it a night since I at least got a satisfactory shot with the night shot setting.

Day 3

We didn’t get outside today like I intended. I had thought about going for a walk and snapping photos of whatever I found interesting. Instead, here’s a photo of my 17 month old’s shoes. I think of it as representing the fact that we didn’t go anywhere today. I decided to play around with the Aperture Priority function on the Canon PowerShot. I’m kind of proud of myself that it only took me a few shots until I got one I liked.

Days 1 and 2

Day 1: Taken with my iphone 3GS shortly after midnight on New Year’s. I find it difficult to take self portraits with the iphone so this is one of many outtakes. My son had been fighting sleep all night which is why he looks like he’s had enough.

Day 2: Taken with a Canon Powershot A590 IS. I’m trying to learn the controls on this camera and this was a practice shot.
